Welcome

These terms govern your use of AuthorCollab, the writing platform operated at authorcollab.com. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service — no hard feelings.

Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, let us know immediately at hello@authorcollab.com. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

Content Ownership

You retain all rights to your original work. Your manuscripts, characters, story bibles, chapter plans, and all other creative content you create on AuthorCollab belong entirely to you. We do not claim any ownership, license, or rights to your writing beyond what is necessary to operate the platform on your behalf.

By using the platform, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. This license ends when you delete your content or close your account.

AI-Generated Content

AuthorCollab uses AI tools to help you draft, review, and refine your writing. Content generated by AI tools on the platform is provided as a starting point — you are responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving all AI-generated content before using it in your published work. We do not guarantee that AI-generated content is free from errors, factual inaccuracies, or unintentional similarities to existing works.

You are solely responsible for the final content you choose to publish, regardless of whether it was AI-assisted.

Acceptable Use

AuthorCollab is a creative writing platform. We ask that you use it in good faith. You agree not to:

• Use the platform to generate content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits, Ink metering, or security measures
• Share your account credentials with others or allow unauthorized access
• Use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or extract data from the platform
• Interfere with the operation of the platform or other users' experience

Subscriptions and Billing

AuthorCollab operates on a monthly subscription basis. When you subscribe:

• You are billed monthly on the anniversary of your subscription start date
• You can cancel at any time — your access continues through the end of the current billing period
• There are no cancellation fees, no contracts, and no tricks
• We may change pricing with 30 days' notice — existing subscribers keep their rate through the current billing cycle

Ink System

Ink is the unit used to measure AI tool usage on AuthorCollab. Here's how it works:

• Monthly Ink is included with your subscription and refreshes each billing cycle. Unused monthly Ink does not roll over.
• Banked Ink is purchased separately and remains available for 365 days from your last AI tool usage on the platform.
• Ink is non-refundable once purchased or granted.
• We show you the estimated Ink cost before every AI operation — you approve or cancel before anything runs.

Availability and Changes

We work hard to keep AuthorCollab running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee 100% uptime. Maintenance, updates, and the occasional unexpected issue may cause temporary interruptions. We will do our best to communicate planned downtime in advance.

We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the platform over time. We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes.

Limitation of Liability

AuthorCollab is provided "as is." While we strive for reliability, we are not liable for:

• Loss of data due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control
• Errors, inaccuracies, or issues in AI-generated content
• Revenue or opportunities lost due to platform downtime or bugs
• Third-party service disruptions (AI providers, payment processors, etc.)

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

You can close your account at any time by contacting us at hello@authorcollab.com. We may also suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or engage in conduct that harms the platform or other users. In all cases, we will make a reasonable effort to let you export your data before deletion.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the platform will be resolved in the courts of Texas.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the platform at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
